Tools

Small pieces of software to go along with the bench work. Look over the bag you have, bring our courses home to your simulator, and a few more as they’re ready.

Each one is free to try. Nothing here replaces a measured assessment at the shop, but it should make that visit more useful.

Spec Book

The stock specs for every iron set and wedge line from the major makers, 2021 to today. Type a model and the sheet opens: loft, lie, length, offset, bounce and swing weight, club by club.

  • Irons from 33 makers, wedges from the big seven
  • Every model year, with the set it replaced
  • Shareable links for a fitting or a trade-in

Course Planner

Local courses, hole by hole, on Google’s photorealistic 3D terrain, starting with Leatherstocking. Enter your carries and the model plays each hole 600 times to pick the club off the tee. Drag the target to where you’d actually aim and watch the odds change.

  • Leatherstocking, Oneonta CC, Meadow Links, Otsego Golf Club, Cobleskill, Seven Oaks and Olde Post Road
  • Fairways, bunkers and the lake mapped; elevation sampled along each hole
  • A pocket caddie to print: the plan on one side, your yardages on the other

Bag Evaluator

Type in what’s in your bag and get a first read on how it hangs together: where the carry distances bunch up, where there’s a hole, and which clubs are doing the least work.

  • Gapping from driver through the wedges
  • Set makeup suggestions, by what you actually hit
  • A starting point for the full Bag Assessment at the bench

Simulator Packs

Course files for the courses on our Golf Guide, built for home launch monitors and simulators. Play Leatherstocking from the garage in January and know the yardages when you get there in June.

  • Courses from the Cooperstown Golf Guide
  • Hole-by-hole yardages matched to the printed books
  • Packaged for the common simulator platforms
